After the release of the Sonic Perfect System guide, I was asked if I would be interested in helping to produce the graphic design for sparkFLAME, an independent comic anthology featuring a slew of artists and writers - many of whom you may recognise from their work on IDW's Sonic the Hedgehog series. Obviously, I couldn't possibly say no to such an incredible opportunity, and sparkFLAME may well go down as one of my favourite things I've worked on.
For this project, I was generally responsible for most of the stuff that wasn't the comics themselves - logo design, cover assembly (with the character artwork produced by the respective comic artists, and colouring from Nathalie Fourdraine), non-comic pages in the book (such as contents, creators, etc), the intro page for Daniel Barnes' ENDLESS FANTASIA, and also the final assembly of the book into a complete document. I also produced a small sketch for the issue's 'Letter' page!
I am extremely grateful to the sparkFLAME team for taking a chance on me, and I hope my work lives up to the standard set by the comics that are the beating heart of sparkFLAME! Keep an eye out for sparkFLAME #2 in the future!
